PC sold, including GstarCAD license?

If you are having your computer—which has GstarCAD installed—replaced, please make sure the license is deactivated before you have the computer picked up.

If that has happened, you should go to that computer as soon as possible to have the license removed. After all, the person with that computer also has your fully functional GstarCAD software.

With GstarCAD licenses, they are and remain your property. If you give away your computer, you’re giving it away along with your GstarCAD license if it’s still installed on it!

10/26/21 If you’re simply using Bluebeam Revu or GstarCAD as a Windows program, you don’t need to worry about the PHP vulnerability that was discovered yesterday. However, our website will be temporarily taken offline for the security update. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We’ve moved our social media accounts to Bluesky and Mastodon. Join us!

Anyone who has been following us on Meta and Musk’s platforms may have noticed that we haven’t posted anything there for a while. After much thought, we’ve decided that, going forward, we’ll only maintain a business presence on social networks that feel like they belong to the users, not to two all-powerful players far away.

We’d love to see you on either platform. Leave a nice comment, ask a thought-provoking question, or just say hi. We’ll read everything sooner or later.

8/28/26 For those interested, GstarBIM LT is temporarily included with the purchase of GstarCAD 2027 Professional. So you can now get started with GstarBIM at no extra cost. The Pro version is not free.

8/21/26 Bluebeam no longer offers a license type based on the number of concurrent users. Until 2022, that was the much more expensive “open” license.

Everything is just personal now. In this situation, we recommend sharing license management with many more people so they can access each other’s licenses whenever they need them.

Example scenario: Two colleagues, Jan and Marie, know what each other is doing. They are both license administrators (Org Admins), but only Jan has a license. Marie knows that Jan doesn’t need it today, so she goes to bluebeam.nl >, logs in > as Org Admin, removes the license from Jan, assigns it to herself, and gets to work. A day later, Jan needs Bluebeam again and does the opposite, because he knows Marie doesn’t need the license. This kind of arrangement works well for a small team.

Another scenario is one in which the planner is responsible for revoking and issuing licenses associated with certain tasks.

If you find yourself switching licenses too often, just tell IDEOMA: “Add one more, please.” In principle, that can be taken care of in a day.

If you order through the IDEOMA online store, you’ll also save on service and administrative fees.

12/8/26 If you have multiple software licenses for an entire team, it’s always a good idea to keep track of whether they’re being used. At Bluebeam, that’s the job of the Org Admins. They can see the last date a user opened Bluebeam. You can use that date to revoke a user’s license if the date is very old.

However, it’s much better if the Org Admin first asks why the license isn’t being used. It’s actually very common for people to use the software incorrectly because they don’t know what it can do. Keep explaining to your colleagues how useful Bluebeam is for technical drawings in PDF format!

Be sure to let your colleagues know about Bluebeam University, which is included with their license.

The new version of GstarCAD 2027 is out, and it seems they’ve once again managed to make the software even faster. GstarCAD itself cites a 10% performance boost for all basic tasks, such as move, copy, and mirror; saving a drawing is up to 8 times faster; and by utilizing hardware acceleration, performance improves by 30 to 80% across the board—and even up to 90% in certain complex situations. They can say that, but you’re better off downloading GstarCAD and testing it yourself.

6/16/26 GIBIT stands for “Municipal Procurement at IT Toolbox,” and the VNG offers municipalities a contract generator to help professionalize the procurement of IT services and products. Please feel free to contact us to learn more about how we handle this. We’d be happy to explain it to you.

It’s no coincidence that (as of 2026) we count 125 municipalities, 11 safety regions, and 8 environmental services among our clients!

1/13/26 Just before the end of the year, the second interim update for GstarCAD 2026, called SP2 (Service Pack 2), was released. You can download and install it for free if you have a license for version 2026. It includes several resolved software bugs.

In GstarCAD itself, you can check which version you have by going to Help > > > About. If you see BUILD 251226 (or a higher number), you’re all set. If not, it’s a good idea to download the latest version. If you’re not experiencing any problems with your current version, there’s generally no need to do anything. After all, if it works, leave it as is.

Tip: Did you know that you can upgrade GstarCAD versions 2025 and 2024 to 2026 at a discounted price? Send us your version, build, and serial numbers (see Help > About), and we’ll verify the information and send you a quote.

5/19/26 Take a close look at what’s new in Bluebeam Revu as of today. In addition to Basics, Core, and Complete, there’s now also Bluebeam Max, so we now have 4 pricing tiers: €240, €300, €400, and €540, excluding VAT!

Read here to find out what the benefits of Max are.
